Green Tea Eye Treatment

We recently heard of a trick to help reduce eye puffyness and dark circles and we are dying to test it out!  This fabulous tip requires you to make two green tea bags using hot water just as you normally would however, once the tea bags are done, wring them out to release the majority of the moisture without completely drying out the bag.  Once you have done this, let the bags sit in the fridge for 10-15 minutes to cool off.  You want to make sure you give the tea bags enough time to fully cool so that you do not burn your skin but at the same time, you do not want to let them dry out because it will reduce their overall effectiveness therefore, use your best judgement.  After cooling the tea bags to an appropriate temperature, lay back, close your eyes and place a tea bag on each of your eyelids, making sure to also cover the skin just under your eyes.  Let the bags sit for about 10 minutes while you relax and enjoy a few minutes of peace and quiet.  A mixtures of the natural ingredients contained in the green tea bag and the caffeine help to reduce the eye puffyness you may have after a sleepless night.  Try it out!

There are many different mascara's out there that get the job done, but what we never thought of would be to combine the best mascara's to get a big beautiful finish. After doing some research we found this combination of the these really good mascara's to be the best. First you are going to want to use Maybelline's Falsies Volume expresses at the base of your lashes and wiggle it around. Next you are going to want to apply Covergirl Lash Blast Volume on the back side of your lashes for lengh and lastly you are going to apply Maybelline Great Lash on the outer tips and on your lower lashes for definition. The initial investment of these three lashes will cost around $20.00 but its better than having to buy fake eye-lashes and worrying about wether they are on right. Brush Baths

Many women forget how important it is to clean your make up brushes on a fairly regular basis.  This can help eliminate skin irritation,  prevent acne breakouts and also improve the overall look of your face complexion when using blushes or bronzers.  Most don't realize how dirty their brushes get, and also don't know how to go about cleaning their brushes.  Luckily, we have a quick tip for you!  Simply mix 1 cup of warm water, 1 tablespoon of vinegar and 1 tablespoon of dish soap into a bow and mix well.  Once you have this mixture, carefully rinse your brushes making sure you don't pull too hard on the bristles while you reshape the brush back into its original form.  Gently pat down the brushes to get the liquid out of the bristles and then leave sitting out overnight for the rest to dry.  Once your brushes are dried you are good to go!

Long Locks!

Mostly all girls crave for long beach waves in the summer, but the biggest problem is that they cannot seem to get their hair to grow. One of my best friends has tried everything she can from vitamins to shampoo's to get her hair to grow like it used to and it just doesn't seem to want to grow past her shoulders. One of the things that I found that really works is made up of a bunch of ingredients that you have laying around your house. She tried it, and now she is hooked, she has never seen her hair grow faster. This is an "everyday leave in spray," to make your hair grow longer. All you need is camomile tea, dried rosemary leaves, and lemon juice. First you are going to heat up a cup of water and put two camomile tea bags in it and let it sit for a little. While letting the tea sit, grind the rosemary leaves as good as you can. Then add 5 teaspoons of the lemon juice to the tea and mix in the ground rosemary leaves and stir it up. All you have to do is let the mixture sit for a day so that the leaves can really soak in. In order to insert it into a spray bottle you are going to have to sift out the leaves but after that you are ready to go.

Aloe Vera Scalp Treatment

Aloe Vera has been used as a skin product by men and women for generations, but did you ever consider it as an effective hair treatment?  If not, it might be time to stop thinking sun burn and start thinking hair rejuvenation!  While it might be surprising to some, aloe vera has many benefits when being used on the scalp.  Girls often times get frustrated with hair frizz, oiliness or scalp dryness, which can create dandruff and cause you to be self-conscious.  Coincidentally, there have been aloe vera shampoos around for quite some time however, it isn't as commonly used compared to the commercial brands we know and are comfortable purchasing on a regular basis.  But, next time you're in the store, purchase an inexpensive bottle of aloe vera juice or shampoo (generally under $10.00) and try it out!  One technique is to gently massage aloe vera onto your scalp about 30 minutes before you plan to shower, then simply rinse out thoroughly under warm water.  There are many benefits to using aloe vera as a hair treatment because of the natural minerals and vitamins it contains.  These elements help to restore your hair's health and can even aid in growth, all of which contribute to fabulous, healthy looking locks!

Beach Waves!

Have you ever got up late and had time to take a shower, but not enough time to blow-dry and style your hair? This has happened to a lot of us at some point or another, but now we actually have the right products to let us get away with not styling our hair and still looking good. One of the easiest things to do is beach waves! There are a wide variety of products offered for different hair types that give you the effortless beach wave that looks good and will last you all day. One product that we like is by Not Your Mother's and its called "Beach Babe." This product is infused with texturing sea salt and sea kelp that will keep your hair looking good all day. It also smells like coconut, and leaves your hair soft! You can find this product at Ulta for only $5.99. Don't want to spend money? You can make the Sea Salt Spray yourself, all you need is a spray bottle, sea salt, gel, and coconut oil. Take a cup of warm water add a table spoon of sea salt and a table spoon of coconut oil and shake it up and spray all around! One of the tricks that we have learned with the beach waves is to let hair towel dry, spray in the product and scrunch your hair a few times. Then go apply your make-up, put on your outfit, and before you leave blow dry your hair a little with the diffuser, add some more product and you are good to go!

This week we wanted to share with you different styles of eye make-up. These days there are so many eye shadows, liners, and lashes available that it can be confusing at times and you never know what goes with what! We wanted to make it very easy and give you different day time and night time looks that you can pair up with different outfits!

For a night time look, change up the shadow to a more bold statement and make the liquid eye-liners thicker! You can even add fake eyelashes(The Katy Perry brand is awesome) to add more thickness to your lashes to make your eye pop! Both of these pictures give you a step-by-step guide to creating the perfect evening eye! The picture on the left gives you a bold look without too much shadow, but if you want to incorporate more shadow the picture on the left is a perfect example! Magnetic Makeup Boards!

This week, we wanted to share a fun and creative tip for storing all your favorite makeup products!  This simple idea requires hardly any materials and will save you loads of time when rushing to get out in the morning, or prepping for a night out with friends.  The idea is to create a magnetic board that can be framed and hung on a wall near your vanity and filled with multiple cosmetic items of which will each have a tiny magnetic strip of their own.  This convenient trick saves you the hassle of constantly searching through your makeup bag for one or two specific items.  To start, purchase a piece of magnetic sheet and make sure you measure out its height and width.  Then take your measurements and find an inexpensive frame (try Marshall's or Home Goods) for your magnetic board.  Before framing the board, take a piece of colored material (fabric or sheet) and cover the magnetic board to add some style.  Once you have done this, you can now frame the board and hang it on a wall closest to where you generally apply your makeup.  Finally, take thin pieces of magnetic strips and glue them to to the backs of each of your favorites cosmetic pieces.  Once the glue has dried you can then place your makeup products onto the board and organize them as you wish!  You'll be amazed at how much time and energy this simple and inexpensive trick with save you, not to mention the benefit of getting to display and admire all of your fabulous cosmetics!

See picture above, taken from Pinterest, for a super cute example of a cosmetic magnet board!!
